What is this scheme?
NGIS is a government scheme that helps nurture early-stage tech startups by providing incubation support, funding, and mentorship so they can develop strong, scalable business ideas.
Objectives
It is a startup incubation scheme by Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) under MeitY, aimed at strengthening India's software product startup ecosystem, especially in Tier-II/III cities. It aims to handhold 300 tech startups across 12 STPI incubation locations in Tier-II/III cities.
Who can apply (eligibility)
- Indian startups working on software product development / technology-based solutions.
- DPIIT-recognised startups are encouraged; individuals, academicians, researchers, entrepreneurs, LLPs, and partnership firms may also participate but may need to register as a private limited company if selected.
What do you get?
- Seed / risk funding up to ₹25 lakh for promising startups.
- Access to state-of-the-art incubation infrastructure, labs, equipment, and testing facilities.
- Mentoring, startup-connect, industry networking, marketing support, and product lifecycle guidance.
- Internship / challenge grants for selected startups.
How to apply
Applicants submit proposals online through the STPI/NGIS application portal during open calls.
You will leave iHub India. Applications are made directly to Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology — iHub India is not part of the process.
