What is this scheme?

GREAT gives funding and incubator support to innovators and startups in technical textiles so they can turn prototypes into market-ready products and technologies.

Objectives

A scheme under the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) to support technical-textile innovators and startups. It help young innovators, entrepreneurs and startups convert technical-textile prototypes into market-ready products/technologies.

Who can apply (eligibility)

  • Individual innovators who are Indian citizens aged 21 years or above, incubated with an eligible incubator, and working on technical-textile innovation.
  • Startup companies incorporated as a private limited company, partnership firm or LLP, with turnover below ₹100 crore, not older than 5 years, and at least 51% Indian resident ownership/control.
  • Projects must relate to technical-textile areas such as agro-textiles, geo-textiles, medical textiles, protective textiles, smart textiles, high-performance fibres, sustainable textiles, composites, or indigenous machinery/equipment.

What do you get?

  • Grant-in-aid of normally up to ₹50 lakh per approved proposal for up to 18 months.
  • Funding is released milestone-wise, generally in 40:40:20 instalments.
  • Associated incubators receive an additional 10% of the sanctioned Government grant share for mentoring, due diligence and monitoring support.
  • Intellectual property generated remains with the innovator/startup or may be jointly shared with the incubator as per their agreement.
