What is this scheme?
The program is to build India's semiconductor/chip-design ecosystem by training skilled manpower and supporting chip development.
Objectives
It aims to train specialised professionals in VLSI and Embedded System Design over 5 years, promote design and development of ASICs, SoCs, FPGAs, reusable IP cores, and prototypes, and create a strong fabless chip-design startup ecosystem in India and support indigenous semiconductor innovation.
Who can apply (eligibility)
- Academic institutions and R&D organisations across India, including IITs, NITs, IIITs, government/private colleges, and R&D bodies.
- Startups and MSMEs can participate through academia-industry collaborative projects, grand challenges, hackathons, or RFPs for System/SoC/IP Core development.
What do you get?
- Financial and technical support for chip-design projects under approved categories.
- Access to chip-design ecosystem support such as EDA tools, IP repository, fabrication/MPW support, prototyping, and mentoring.
- Support for manpower training, R&D, hardware IP design, system design, prototype development, and deployment.
How to apply
Applicants submit project proposals online through the C2S portal in the prescribed MeitY provided format.
You will leave iHub India. Applications are made directly to Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology — iHub India is not part of the process.
