What is this scheme?
The BioNEST program enables certain entities (educational institutions, incubators etc.) to create globally competent bio-incubation facilities for targeted scaling up of biotech startup ecosystem.
Objectives
- The BioNEST (Bioincubators Nurturing Entrepreneurship for Scaling Technologies) program is supported by BIRAC to create globally competent bio-incubation facilities across the country in order to facilitate the targeted scaling up of biotech startup ecosystem.
- To provide entrepreneurs with incubation space with shared access to high end infrastructure, specialized and advanced equipment
- To provide entrepreneurs with business mentorship, IP, egal and regulatory guidance, and networking opportunities.
Who can apply (eligibility)
- Relevant incorporated Indian legal entities including: Educational institutions, Business Incubators, Biotech-Parks, State government Science and Technology bodies, Biotech State Councils, Research Hospitals.
What do you get?
- Grant-in-aid, based on the need and scope of the project as adjudged by the BioNEST committee.
- BIRAC funding to cater to refurbishment/ renovation of space, equipment, furniture and operational cost.
