About

Nativelead Foundation is a Madurai-based, community-driven non-profit founded in 2012 by Sivarajah Ramanathan (then Founder & President) to build a New-Age entrepreneurial ecosystem in Tier-2/Tier-3 cities of Tamil Nadu. Its investment arm, Native Angels Network (co-founders include K. Pandia Rajan, Nagaraja Prakasam, Sivarajah Ramanathan and V.A. Palanikumar), is described as India's first angel network started in a Tier-2 city, with local chapters across Tamil Nadu (Madurai, Coimbatore, Erode, Karur, Trichy, Thoothukudi) plus Native Connect chapters in Chennai and internationally. It follows a four-pronged Enabling–Nurturing–Incubating–Investing model. Note: founder Sivarajah Ramanathan was relieved from his roles at Nativelead to head the Tamil Nadu Government's TANSIM/StartupTN mission; co-founder/chairman Nagaraja Prakasam took over as interim CEO — Nativelead itself remains a private non-profit.

About this record

  • Structured as a private non-profit / NGO foundation (Nativelead Foundation + Native Angels Network), not a conventional for-profit VC fund — verify the legal vehicle if a for-profit fund counterparty is strictly required. No formal AUM disclosed. Strongly South-India (Tamil Nadu) regional, minimal/no UP relevance. GOVERNANCE NOTE: founder Sivarajah Ramanathan LEFT Nativelead to lead the Tamil Nadu Government's TANSIM/StartupTN (a separate Section-8 government body) — this is a founder-departure / leadership-continuity item, NOT government ownership of Nativelead. Nativelead is NOT government/DFI/public-university owned. No fraud / look-alike-domain / PE-not-VC concerns. Website live and genuine.

Compiled from public sources as of 2026-07. iHub India lists investors neutrally and does not endorse, rank, or verify investment terms — confirm all details directly with the investor before transacting.
